As mentioned before, the gameplay is fine, but a perfect aim suddenly becomes less satisfying if the pain on the target’s face does not appear. In 2012 this was actually unforgivable, but nowadays this is no longer possible at all. Just like in the original, they are completely static: whether they find a dead comrade, have you in their sights or have just been shot, soldiers always have the same emotionless facial expression. One graphic aspect that I do find disturbing is the faces of the characters in the game. In itself I don’t find that very disturbing, because the gameplay makes up for a lot, more about that later. The Berlin of this game does look reasonably neat this time, but this is still far from the most beautiful game that will be released this year – or even that has been released in the past two years. The colors, just like in the original, still largely come from the same palette, but they do come out a bit better. In the case of Sniper Elite V2 Remastered, I get mixed feelings. The first point of a remaster is of course whether the graphics have been polished up a bit. The remaster must bring the game into 2019, but the question is of course whether the gameplay can still keep up with our current times. Sniper Elite V2 felt a bit dated graphically when it was released in 2012, but it did provide us with a satisfying sniping experience. Are they that stupid or am I that smart?.
